Places to Visit

• Silves (20 minutes car drive) has a 12th century castle with archaeological museum, once the capital of the Algarve
  
• Monchique (40 minutes car drive) wonderful picturesque setting famous for the natural water spa
  
• Guia (10 minutes car drive) a small village with narrow cobbled streets, traditional chicken piri-piri restaurants. With the wonderful Algarve Shopping Center with hypermarket, nine cinemas, ten pin bowling and excellent shops all just outside Guia
  
• Faro (45 minutes away ) airport, shops, restaurants and Reserve Natural da Rio Formosa a twitchers delight
  
• Tavira (50 minutes away) with its ancient cobbled streets and buildings spanning over several architectural years, or visit Tavira islands accessed by one short ferry trip past the protected lagoons of the nature reserves
  
• Vilamoura (30 minutes car drive) has three golf courses, yacht marina, sports facilities, casino, restaurants etc.
  
• General places: we have mentioned only a few there are so many more golf courses, beaches, activities, places to see. The Algarve Portugal really is a beautiful place with wonderful people.
